IT Business Analyst Daniel Shih, Oncologist Neel Shah, MD; Nurse Practitioner Ryan Hollis, Respiratory Therapist Dustin Gogal, Respiratory Therapist Ricardo Viera and Cardiovascular Nurse Joey Luka shed their scrubs, donned some gym shoes and played in the Hoop Dreams for a Cure basketball tournament with proceeds benefiting the Cancer Resource Centre in Munster.

Garden is dedicated for June Hawk-Franklin
Wanting to honor the memory of his wife June, a woman who battled cancer with grace and dignity, Jerry Franklin knew the perfect place – one that offers visitors peace and serenity. The healing garden at the Cancer Resource Centre will be renamed the "June Hawk-Franklin Garden of Meditation and Healing."

Gold Award Stems from Colors of the Rainbow
The Cancer Resource Centre in Munster is one of 28 organizations and charities across the state to be named among the Indiana First Lady's Charitable Foundation grant recipients. First Lady Karen Pence presents Anthony Andello, director of the Cancer Resource Centre with a $500 check that will be used to help support Art Therapy classes.

At the ribbon tree dedication ceremony, Cancer Resource Specialist Monica Hoffman accepts the check on behalf of the Cancer Resource Centre from Girl Scout Sarah Hoffman (no relation). Proceeds will benefit the Centre's programs and services – support groups, mind-body-spirit classes, educational offerings and a resource library – which are offered free of charge to those in need.
